Tips For Your VideoChat Room |
Here are tricks of the
trade that come straight from other successful VideoChat
Hosts. Follow these tips and you'll find yourself earning
lots of cash and making many new friends!!
Be Available and Visible
Be ready, willing and able to chat anytime Guests
find you online. Let them know when you are available
by keeping your Host schedule updated and current.
If you say you're going to be online, be online -
or note that on that specific date at that specific
time, you will not be available. Give your Guests
100% of your attention, focus on them! They are paying
for every minute of their time spent with you. Stay
in front of the camera - do not leave your room empty
with a note saying "back in a few." If you are in
the middle of a session and you must use the restroom
or take a snack break, it is better to tell your Guests
something urgent has come up, apologize and tell them
when you'll return. Then go offline.
Setting the Scene
The environment you are in, what you wear and the
props you use play an integral role defining the atmosphere
of your VideoChat. When it comes to setting the scene,
you should give things some thought. Do you want your
room to appear warm and comforting? Your room should
be a closed, quiet spot, where you can chat without
disruption from people, telephone calls, television
sets, etc. Most importantly - make sure your Guests
can see you and your room otherwise it's all for naught.
Interact, Interact, Interact!
Let your Guests know you are real and that they are
seeing you LIVE, not pre-recorded video. Let them
watch you move, hold things up for them to see. Pay
attention to what they say and respond to their questions
and comments. Try to look directly at them, even if
you have to communicate through typing. In short,
make them feel appreciated.
Keep Them Chatting
The more they chat, the more you earn! Engage your
Guests in conversation! This is a great way to keep
them hooked as well as to keep them coming back for
more! Break-the-ice, take the initiative, lead the
conversation. Be warm and welcoming. Be friendly,
be open and be yourself. Show a true interest in them
- LISTEN and RESPOND. If you're in the middle of a
chat and you see a Guest's time is about to end, invite
them to stay. If they've been in your chatroom before,
ask or remind them about something that happened last
time.
Tempt New Guests to Chat With You
The FREE Text Chat is a great way to pull new Guests
in. They can't see you, they can't hear you, but you
can let them know what they're missing by NOT seeing
you. The first 20-seconds upon entry to a VideoChat
room are FREE for chatters paying by the minute. As
a Host, it's up to you to take advantage of this time
by making the text chat exciting for your Guests.
Give them attention like you would your regular Guests,
let them in on everything that's going on in the room
and ask them questions as well to prompt them to get
involved.
Discounts - Making It Worth Their While
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS
! Do NOT EXPERIMENT, ask first.
Discounts are a great way to pull users into a paid
conversation and keep them there! There are three
types of Discounts that you can offer your Guests:
A discount per minute outside of the VideChat, A discount
per minute during the VideChat, and a per session
flat fee discount. Giving discounts encourages users
to visit your VideoChat room. Giving a discount during
a chat will make your Guest feel good - let them know
you're really enjoying the conversation and you'd
like to give them a discount. Use these discounts
to keep your Guests talking. Remember - the more time
they spend in your VideoChat room, the more money
you earn!
Make Friends
Be a friend to your Guests. You want them to know
that you are always available. Listen to them, empathize
with them, and treat them the way you would someone
you've known for a long time. Ask them about their
lives, learn their names, their likes, their dislikes.
Let them know you are really with them. Do these things
and in no time, they'll be back to see you again and
you'll become great online buddies.
Encourage Them To Bring Their Friends
Give your Guests your Referral Code and tell them
to share it with their friends. This code is unique
to you. When a new user registers for FREE ImLive
Membership using your Referral Code, you will receive
55% of the money he spends viewing your Expert Tutorials
or VideoChatting with you! So give your Guests added
incentive for pushing traffic in your direction and
remember - more people means more money for you! Say
something to your Guests like, "Send some of your
friends my way, and next time you come around I'll
make sure you get a good discount," then give them
your Referral Code to give their friends.
Be Different
Do your best to be upbeat and origional! Mix things
up and don't let your videochat fall into a rut…be
CREATIVE and emphasize the things that make you stand
out! Change your room around talk about something
interesting, ask your Guests what they're looking
for… Plan ahead so that you don't end up with
dead air time, but go with the flow and be spontaneous
- your Guests will appreciate you for it!
Create Comprehensive Expert Tutorials
If a guest sees that you have high quality, informative
tutorials, they are much more likely to enter your
VideoChat room and benefit from your expertise LIVE.
Expert Tutorials are also an excellent way to make
money even when you're not online! In addition, during
VideoChat you can refer guests to your tutorials -
this will not only enrich their VideoChat with you,
but it will also bring in more revenue from your Tutorials!
Provide Good Service
Guests view your Professional Videos and enter your
VideoChat abecause you have talents and expertise
that interest them. So show them what it is you do
best! They are interested in you and your knowledge,
so try to help them. If they ask you specific questions,
try to answer them. If they have requests, try to
honor them. Keep in mind that they are paying customers;
and as all good businesses have learned over time,
the customer is always right!
Help Guests Use the System
When Guests come to you in the FREE Text Chat with
difficulties using the system, and they ask you technical
questions, try to do everything you can to help them
solve their problems. It has been our experience that
Guests who are pleased with the service they receive
from Hosts, no matter what the service, usually return
to the particular Host for another visit. These Guests
will probably make your VideoChat room the first place
they visit.
Make It Hard To Say Goodbye
Always keep them wanting more. If the conversation
gets slow, the Guest might leave, so keep it fresh
and exciting. Once you master the moves, Guests will
be returning to your room time after time, and THEY
WILL send their friends!
Encourage Guests to Buy More Time
When your Guest has less than two minutes worth of
Credit left in his account, you will see a message
beneath his Username alerting you that his time is
almost up. This is your chance - so go into action!
Step up the conversation by saying something like:
"Too bad - our time is about to end - why don't you
buy more time then meet me back here? I'll be waiting
for you." Offer to give him a discount when he returns,
and he'll be sure to pay you another visit. At this
point, you should remember to ask him to rate you
if he hasn't already done so.
Ask Your Guests To Rate You
A good rating is the key to earning the most money.
The more stars you get, the higher fees you are eligible
to charge. If you want to be visible and you want
to get traffic, then get high ratings! You could be
rated on one or more of the following: your service,
appearance, timeliness, relevance, attentiveness etc.
You can remind Guests as they are about to leave about
rating you - they're given the chance to rate you
once they exit.
Juggling Multiple Chat Conversations
Your VideoChat room allows multiple Guests to chat
with you at once. This is why it is important to know
them. If you really have a lot of Guests at once,
make a point of not neglecting anyone and responding
to everyone's questions. Note that all your Guests
can see the responses you send to everyone, and what
other Guests have written or said to you, unless you
select that Guest's name from the list of participants
and send them a private message. Thus, it is extremely
important to give your Guests a sense of individual
attention. Start your replies with their first names,
then repeat their question or comment in your answer,
give each Guest the feeling that he is the only one
you are talking to...
High Traffic/Low Traffic Hours
You can use the slow hours to your advantage, trying
new things and giving your Guests more individual
attention. Here are a few things you can do: Create
Expert Tutorials, Send mail to your Mailing List (let
them know you are online) or send personal messages
to your Guests through the ImLive Message Center.
In short, use this time to improve and promote your
VideoChat!
Patience Is A Virtue
When it comes to VideoChat, patience is definitely
a virtue. It takes a while to build a loyal chat following,
so expect your first few sessions to be a little slow.
But once you hook your Guests and build a family of
regulars, things will pick up. Within each session,
your first few minutes online might be a bit slow,
as sometimes it takes a few minutes for Guests to
note you are online. DO TAKE THE INITIATIVE when Guests
enter your room, never wait for them to say something,
always greet them as soon as possible.
Let Them Hear You
Audio is a great way to grab a Guest's attention,
adding a whole new dimension to VideoChat. Let your
Guests hear you speak! All you need is a microphone
and a soundcard.
Technical Tips
There are several technical basics necessary for the
establishment of a successful VideoChat room. These
are a fast and reliable Internet connection, a quality
webcam to ensure a clear picture and of course, a
good computer. A microphone is an optional piece of
equipment, necessary only if you'd like to audio chat
with your Guests, along with a sound card. A Guest
who sees you clearly is sure to be a satisfied Guest
and more likely to pay you another visit!
